The Taipan combines ABUS road-helmet benefits with gravel lifestyle needs. The LED version includes a rechargeable rear light. Ride where the pavement ends and the adventure begins.

Gravel is more than just a sport. Gravel is a feeling. The freedom to turn off when others go straight ahead. Light, shadow, wind, water, nature – and you right in the middle of it all. The Taipan is made for just that: for riders who seek their own path. And for trails that know no signposts.

Lower edge protection: polycarbonate (PC) outer shell covers the lower edge of the helmet and protects against scratches, impacts and signs of wear and tear

Ponytail Fit: thanks to the opening in the height-adjustable adjustment system, the helmet is also suitable for long hairstyles such as ponytails, buns, or braids

Front Eyewear Port: defined recess on the front of the helmet to position glasses in a secure and aerodynamic holding position while riding

Acti Cage™: allows larger ventilation openings combined with high stability thanks to foamed-in structural reinforcement

Reflector Sticker: for better visibility in the dark

Forced Air Cooling: the ventilation openings are connected to each other via channels on the inside to guide incoming air through the helmet and thus ensure maximum air circulation and a pleasant head climate

Rechargeable, magnetic Rear Light: is attached to the back of the helmet using magnets and ensures greater visibility – can be charged with USB-C charging cable

IP44: protection class that certifies protection against solid foreign bodies larger than 1 mm and against splash water for electronic products such as lights

Four different light modes (Rear Light): Steady, Power, Pulse and Flash selectable – corresponding to light and weather conditions

Operating time per mode in h (min.): depending on the weather conditions and type of use, the usage time of the light is at least 4.3 hours in Power mode and at least 35 hours in Flash mode

Battery charging time (light): the charging time until the battery is fully charged is approximately 1.5 hours

Zoom™ Spin adjustment system: rotary wheel at the back of the head for individual adjustment of the helmet to the head size

Flow Straps™: aerodynamic straps for low flow resistance, less noise and high wear comfort

Floating Pad: padding on the inside of the helmet, which is clicked into place via several attachment points, making it more flexible and offering better ventilation and greater wear comfort

Push-in buckle: for safe and practical handling, the straps are fitted with a classic chin lock (three-pronged connection) for opening and closing 

In-mould process: production process in which the inner cushioning material made of expanded polystyrene (EPS) is foamed directly into the outer shell made of polycarbonate (PC) – this creates a durable and robust connection

Standard UK postage if Free for items £40 or over sent via Royal Mail 48 service. Postage for orders under £40 is £3.99.

We send all orders as quickly as we can which is normally the same working day if ordered before 3pm (Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays). Small packages are sent using Royal Mail First Class, Tracked 48 and Special Delivery for higher value items. Bulkier items like Wheels, Frames and Home Trainers are sent with one of our couriers either DPD or DHL. All orders are fully insured and most will require a signature on delivery. Standard delivery is 1-2 working days. Order places over the weekend or on Bank Holiday will be sent with our next working day collection.

Depending on the size and weight of the item and your postal location we send with Royal Mail Special Delivery 1pm our Courier DPD or DHL on their 24 hour service. Remote Highland and Island locations may not be guaranteed next working day.

International shipping rates are calculated by the weight and value of the items and the country they are being shipped to. To get a shipping quote just add the items to your basket and use the Shipping Estimator at the bottom of the basket page to calculate the shipping rates to your country. Depending on weight and value of your order we send with Royal Mail Standard Airmail, Signed For or Tracked service. Standard delivery time is 5-15 working days for most European countries and 5-25 working days for most other countries.

We offer DHL Express as a much quicker delivery option for Europe, US and Worldwide. Most of Europe and USA is 1-2 working day delivery. Other countries 2-4 working days.

Please be aware that Import Duties, Local Taxes and Courier handling fees may be payable when importing into most countries. The UK is no longer part of the European Union so import charges will be due when shipping to most countries.
